SHILLONG, MARCH 07: Shillong Lajong FC will take on Sesa Football Academy in their second I-League Under-20 encounter at the JRD TATA Complex in Jamshedpur on Friday. The Shillong team had drawn their first match against Churchill Brothers on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by Lajong, their match against the Goa-based Sesa team, which will be playing their first match of the tournament, promises to be an interesting one, and the young lads are looking forwards to it. The Reds are expected to cap their good on field performance with goals and pick up the three crucial points.
Coach Gumpe Rime said as much. “The weather is my main concern as it is very hot and we are playing at 1 p.m. But it is hot for both the teams and there is no excuse. We will settle for nothing less than a win.”
Rime said they have not seen SESA Academy play, but his wards were up for the challenge. “We will be playing them for the first time. We are expecting a good fight from them,” he added.
Lajong had played a goalless draw against Churchill , while Dempo, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal had won their respective games. On Thursday, Salgaocar beat Pune FC while Prayag United and Sporting Clube De Goa played a 1-1 draw. (By Our Reporter)
