Shillong, Nov 27: Tenth placed Shillong Lajong FC will take on sixth placed Palian Arrows in the eighth round of the I-League. Lajong is confident that it will win the match agains t the visitor as its coach Desmond Bulpin said, “We might win the match but it will be not an easy game for us.”.
It has not been a good time for Lajong as they have had three straight defeats, the last at its own home ground against Churchill Brothers and is placed at number 10 with seven points against their kitty.
Speaking about the performance of the team during the pre-match press conference, Bulpin said, “There has been lots of negative thinking and action which has been affecting the team’s performance”.
Pailan Arrows coach Arthur Papas is equally confident that his boys will perform well on Wednesday afternoon. He said, “The boys are doing well and hope they will do well tomorrow also”. However, he admitted that it is not going to be an easy task to beat Lajong.
Papa said, “Lajong is a good side and it will be big challenge before the boys.” He informed that it has been a tough travelling from Goa to Shillong but as professionals one has to be able to adopt to the situation quickly and at the end of the day it will be result that counts and not an excuse”.
Taking about the weather Papas said “This is a perfect weather for football and hope it will be a good noon to witness soccer”.
Lajong, will be missing the service of Boithang, Ebi Sukure and Ramlalthang, while Arrows will be playing full strength. – By Suraj Joshi
