SHILLONG, DEC 9: The Khasi Welfare Committee (KWC) Vairengte, Mizoram, has sought the intervention of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma into the long-pending Land Settlement Certificate (LSC) issue with the Mizoram government and construction of a community hall.
In the letter, KWC president Vailat Sutong expressed their concerns over the uncertainty and hardship faced by families due to the delayed LSC issuance by the Mizoram government.
“The first and most pressing issue is the long pending matter regarding the Land Settlement Certificate (LSC) which has yet to be issued by the State of Mizoram. This issue has created considerable uncertainty and hardship for many families and requires urgent attention and interstate coordination at the highest level to find a resolution,” the letter stated.
The committee has also sought financial assistance for constructing a community hall, which serves as a vital center for social, cultural, and community development activities.
“The second matter for discussion is our request for financial support for the construction of our local community hall,” the letter added.
