SHILLONG, DEC 11: The Khasi Students Union – South West Khasi Hills (KSU-SWKH) on Thursday decided to postpone its proposed 24-hour bandh from December 15 to December 17. Informing about the change of the date, , the union’s general secretary Forwardman Nongrem said that the bandh will now begin at 5am on December 17 to 5am of December 18.
According to him, the decision was taken because of the En-kyrhai Festival, a two day event to be held on December 15 and 16. It may be mentioned the proposed bandh called by the KSU-SWKH is to protest against the state government’s nonchalant attitude to their demand for restoring the 27 crore road project from Weiloi to Rangblang (40km), which was earlier dropped by chief minister.- By Our Reporter
