SHILLONG, NOV 23: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Monday shut down the Ramkrishna Mission, after it remained open on the occasion of the Seng Kut Snem, a festival of indigenous Khasi faith.
Members from the KSU Mawkhar and Jaiaw Circles went and found that the Ramkrishna Mission at Jail road was functioning despite the state government has already declared the day as a state holiday on the occasion of the Seng Kut Snem.
The management was immediately asked to close down.
Meanwhile, the KSU has warned all offices, educational institutions, banks and companies that failed to respect special occasions and festivals observed by the Indigenous people.
