SHILLONG, APR 4:  Kiddies Corner Secondary School (KCSS) ninth annual inter house and school sports culminated with colourful display of March past, drills besides showcasing not only the sporting talents but also the spirit of participation the students displayed at the St. Anthony’s mini stadium at Don Bosco on Friday.

Former Meghalaya home minister and Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) vice chancellor Robert G Lyngdoh graced the finals of the KCSS annual sports function as chief guest. The sports meet also saw other dignitaries taking time out to witness the sports meet of the KCSS, a school that not only lays emphasis on studies but also encourage students to be active and take part in outdoor and indoor activities.

Parents of students came in droves to witness the participations of their children and also encourage them.

In the inter school sports category altogether nine schools beside the host took part in the annual sports event. St. Edmunds, St Anthony’s, Loreto Convent, St Mary’s, Pearly Dew, Trinity Buds, Shillong Public, Providence and Seven Sets were the schools that took part in the different sports event.

In the 100 meters for boys, St. Anthony’s secondary school came first followed by St Edmunds and KCSS. In the 100 meters girl, St Mary’s took the first place followed by Loreto Convent and Seven Sets school.

In the 4 x 100 boys relay, St. Anthony’s clinched the first position, while KCSS took both the second and third positions. In the girls 4 x 100, St Mary’s took the first position, followed by Loreto Convent and the third place went to KCSS.

In the junior category 4 x 100 relay race, KCSS walked away with the first position, followed by St Anthony’s and the third position went to St Edmund’s school. In the junior girl’s category for the 4 x 100 relay race, St Mary’s took the first position, followed by KCSS and the third position was clinched by Loreto Convent.

The KCSS inter house competition among Theresa House, Mandela House, Gandhi House; Hammarksjold House was also keenly contested.
