SHILLONG, SEPT 24: Irked by the non-availability of better facilities in their college for which they have been demanding for the past six years, students of Kiang Nangbah government college located in Jowai on Tuesday demanded better infrastructure from the administrators of this institute.
Addressing a press conference, the union vice president T Phawa informed that Kiang Nangbah government college is the only government college in Jowai. He said the youths of the district deserve every educational facility that the government can provide.
Phawa said, “The demands made by students include extension of college building, sanctioning of new departments, hiring of full-fledged teachers for the morning classes and construction of basketball court.”
Phawa also informed that they have sent letters to every ministers in the government with a list of their demands but none of them have responded.
Phawa, however, is undaunted as he asserted, “We will continue to do our best to get these much needed facilities in our college and if the governments is silent then some other form of strong action will be taken.”-By Our Reporter
