SHILLONG, SEPT 18: A Khasi youth Bisharlang Pyngrope working in Nagaland as T.M.T Hr. Sec. School principal the prestigious award from Nagaland government for his contribution to the society in the field of education on September 5 during the Teachers’ Day celebration.
During his tenure as the principal of this institution, he showed sincere love, care and concern for the people and the students in particular. Nagaland minister of Education & SCERT Yitachu Pfithu, was the chief guest, said that teachers need to be saluted and honoured for their sacrifices. He acknowledged that quality and value based education was lacking in Nagaland despite the state boasting of having 80% literacy rate.
Yitachu furthermore urged upon teachers to rededicate themselves to the task of fulfilling their roles as and serves the state and to help it move forward. Pyngrope, from Mawlyngad village, is the youngest among the awardees so far in the history of the Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland.
Apart from this award, this youth has also received some other awards like Bharat Shiksha Ratan Award 2014, District Teacher’s Award 2015, Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award 2015 and Best Indian Educationist Award 2016.-By Our Reporter
