SHILLONG, MAY 10: The court of first class magistrate MK Lyngdoh on Tuesday reserved its judgment till May 20 with regard to a case filed by Shillong District Jail authority against the GNLA chairman Champion R Sangma.
The hearing was conducted following the Meghalaya high vourt order directing her to complete the trial within a month time and that no further extension would be granted.
“The court will deliver its judgment on the matter on May 20 after trial on the case concluded here,” sources informed.
It may be mentioned, the Jailor and staffs of the Shillong District Jail had lodged an FIR against Sangma alleging him of threatening them on October 16, 2014.
While the FIR was drafted on October 23, 2014, it was however lodged only on November 20, 2014, sources said.
Sources also informed most of the witnesses examined have rejected the allegation that the GNLA chief had threatened any one of them except for the jailor.
“They have also informed that the jailor had obtained their signatures on a blank paper and they have no knowledge that it was meant for filing an FIR,” sources said.-By Our Reporter
