SHILLONG, JULY 13: The Senior Electrical Inspector, Meghalaya has informed that all suppliers, licensees, traders or owners of electrical installations, etc that in line with Sub-Regulation (2) of Regulation 36 of Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010 “Provisions for supply and use of electricity in multi-storeyed building more than 15 metres in height (i.e., 5 storeys)”, shall require inspection and testing of electrical installations, wiring etc by the Electrical Inspector for safety.
Therefore, no electricity supply shall be released, commenced or recommended (after the installation has been disconnected for a period of six months or more) to such buildings without prior inspection and testing by the Electrical Inspector. Electricity supply shall be released or commenced only after obtaining written approval/issuance of electrical safety certificate from the Inspectorate of Electricity, Government of Meghalaya.
