The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has served one week ultimatum to the NEIGRIHMS administration to issue appointment letters to the successful local indigenous candidates for the post of Diet Clerk.
In a letter to the Director, NEIGRIHMS on Friday, HYC president Roy Kupar Synrem said, “Therefore, we strongly demand that the institute should take necessary steps to issue appointment letters to the successful local indigenous candidate(s) for the recruitment to the post of Diet Clerk at the earliest and complete the whole process of recruitment within a week’s time, failing which we will have no option but to agitate and hold protest programs against the NEIGRIHMS administration.”
Synrem said the institute has allegedly failed to issue appointment letters despite the results for written test examination and the typing speed examination were declared on November 4, 2022 and January 3, 2023, respectively. Four local indigenous candidates were shown to have been qualified in both the examinations.
“This act of delay in declaration of results for appointment of successful candidates, particularly being from the local indigenous community, by the institute, raises serious doubts about the transparency in the whole process of recruitment as well as has affected the applicants/candidates both mentally and economically,” he said while adding that prolonged delay will also leads to major problem of over-aging of these applicants/candidates in the future.
