SHILLONG, AUG 26: HYC Education Secretary Enlang Sawian has filed a complaint with East Khasi Hills SP seeking an FIR against Facebook user “Moskan Uddin” from Hojai and content creator “Mumu Mumu” from Golaghat, Assam, for a viral Facebook Live.
The duo allegedly branded Khasi-Jaintia women as “prostitute women”, made degrading remarks on their character and paternity of children, called Khasis “wild creatures”, and said Khasi men have “no future.”
They also allegedly threatened action against Meghalaya people on behalf of Assam and claimed murders of non-tribals happen every year in the state, the complaint said, urging action under BNS provisions for promoting enmity, defamation and intimidation.
