TURA, MAY 9: Sixth position holder Drishti De of the science stream from Don Bosco College, Tura has credited her success to teachers and parents even as she said that determination and effort are the key to success
“Effort and determination is the ultimate key to success. I have always believed in myself and followed my dreams. I am now preparing to acquire an engineering degree after which I shall try to step further towards my goal. Garo hills has always been my favourite place, Sherwood School and Don Bosco College will remain my favourite school and college forever,” she said.
De had bagged position in her matriculation exam as well.
Her father teaches chemistry in the same college. De has keen interest in gardening, painting and reading books on religion, science and technology. She aspires to be a scientist. “I love reading on new discoveries. It gives me inspiration. Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton are my role models”.
Seventh position holder Resma Sheik (science stream) from JN Higher Secondary School, Phulbari, a region known for poor education facilities, credited her success to her parents and teachers.
Her father is a butcher by profession. Resma loves gardening and aspires to pursue medicine. “If you have patience and work hard, there is nothing that you cannot achieve,” said Resma.-From Our Correspondent
