BJP leader and cabinet minister Alexander Hek Laloo Monday said if the party insists, he is ready to contest from Shillong parliamentary seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha.
“I am not saying that I am the only aspirant candidate from Shillong parliamentary seats but if the party insists on contesting, I will not say no this time,” Hek told reporters.
He informed that there are many ticket aspirants for the Shillong parliamentary seat. Former BJP state president Ernest Mawrie and advocate Fenela Lyngdoh Nonglait are among those who have applied for the party ticket.
However, the decision on the matter will be taken by central leadership, he added.
On the other hand, Hek said he has no information about the individuals, who are applying for tickets from Tura constituency.
Meanwhile, the BJP leader categorically denied that there is any dissent among the members of the party.
“I have not heard about any dissent in the party. We have a new president and everyone is working for the welfare of the party, the people and the state,” he claimed.
