SHILLONG, AUG 29: Former state health minister AL Hek has been appointed as one of the vice presidents of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). In a statement issued on Monday, MPCC general secretary Dr Manash Das Gupta informed that the MPCC president DD Lapang has decided to appoint Hek as one of the vice presidents of the MPCC.
Hek, who was recently dropped from the Mukul ministry, would replace Ronnie V Lyngdoh, who has been inducted in the state cabinet on August 26. Meanwhile, Lapang has also appointed WK Kyndiah as one of the general secretaries of the MPCC with immediate effect.-By Our Reporter
