Hally War and Prasad Agnihotri recognized for grassroots impact

SHILLONG, MAR 16: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya marked World Social Work Day by conferring its Social Work Excellence Award on Padma Hally War and healthcare activist Prasad Agnihotri.

Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque presented the awards as Dean Garima Kalita looked on.

War, a Khasi farmer and environmentalist celebrated for decades of grassroots work and the preservation of living root bridges, was recognised after receiving the Padma Shri this year.

Agnihotri, chairperson of Sanvedena Rugnseva Samiti, was cited for supporting underprivileged patients and community welfare.

Speaking at the event, the awardees urged students to engage deeply with communities.
