SHILLONG, OCT 26: Governor Ganga Prasad today was briefed on the overall security situation especially along the international border in the state.
Border Security Force (BSF) Inspector General PK Dubey while calling on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday apprised him of the security scenario of International Border of Meghalaya.
He also briefed the governor about the border domination and security situation at border in the advent of recent input on Rohingas influx in Bangladesh.
The governor appreciated the duties performed and efforts by the BSF soldiers, without caring for their personal comfort inspite of hardships due to remoteness of the location, extreme climatic conditions and hostile geographical features like thick jungle, rivers, etc.
He complimented the Force as “India’s First Line of Defence” and playing a pivotal role, contributing immensely towards all facets of national security. Coined as “Bharat ke Veer”, it has glorious saga of velour, sacrifice, dedication and stood up to every challenge which country has faced after its raising.
The governor extended his best wishes to all BSF personnel / Bharat ke Veer & their families and complimented that the Force may continue to achieve excellence and safeguard the borders through its deeds of courage and valour.
Meanwhile, the governor will flag off the “Half Marathon – 2017” to pay homage to Martyrs of Meghalaya at BSF campus, Mawpat, Shillong on October 28.
