SHILLONG, AUG 5: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Friday said that the state government had taken up with the Centre on the need to address the issue of price rise which has affected the citizens to a great extent.
“We have done it already. And not only the state of Meghalaya, other states have also taken up with the government of India about this issue,” Tynsong told reporters.
He said this subject has to be discussed not only at the level of the state government but at the central government level too.
“You cannot just blame the state government because there are certain issues where we need to talk to the central government. That is why the central government seems right now they are working on that,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tynsong has also informed that all deputy commissioners have been asked to reactivate the district monitoring committee and monitor this issue on a regular basis and solve the problems due to price rise at the district level.
