SHILLONG, AUG 13: The state government has directed the chief secretary, MS Rao to immediately complete the process of identifying designated places for accommodating the hawkers and street vendors at the earliest.
Addressing media persons on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that the issue related to the street vendors and hawkers was discussed at the review meeting.
“The chief secretary has been asked to complete the process of identifying designated places to allow street vendors and hawkers to resume their livelihood activities,” he said.
Tynsong said the government will accordingly take a decision on the matter based on the report, which will be soon submitted by the chief secretary.
