SHILLONG, OCT 2: The animal husbandry & veterinary office in West Khasi hills district was set ablaze after miscreants lobbed a petrol bomb on Tuesday night. The incident took place at around 10 pm on the first day of the three days night road-blockade called by the ten ngos demanding implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP), police said.
A computer, printer and the fax machine of the office were damaged by fire. Police said that the miscreants threw the petrol bomb in one of the rooms of the office.
Police sources however informed that the chowkidar of the office was absent at the time when the incident occurred. A case of arson has been registered and police are investigating into the matter to nab the culprits behind the act.- By Our Reporter
