Govt: Will tackle influx

SHILLONG, SEPT 26: Even as the Meghalaya government condemned the attacked by “criminals” and “vested interest” by using petrol bombs to damage the private and business properties, it has assured that the government is addressing the issue of “illegal infiltration” and “ influx” in a timely and integrated manner.

In a press statement issued through the political department on Thursday, the government said that interested groups must understand that a reasonable timeframe is required for putting in place mechanism for tackling the issue of “influx” and “illegal infiltration” even as it requested them to be patience.

While requesting the citizens to denounce criminal and anti-social acts and cooperate with the law enforcing authority to maintain peace, the government release asserted that it will deal with firm hands criminal and anti social acts.- By Our Reporter
