Shillong, Feb 11: Suspected Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militants on Tuesday night triggered a blast at a petrol pump in near the Williamnagar Civil hospital but there were no casualties.
The militants triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) blast around 9.15 pm at the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) petrol pump.
Meghalaya Inspector General of Police (operation) GHP Raju said informed that the militants triggered the blast after the petrol pump was closed on Tuesday night. He, however, said that nobody injured but a pumping machine was damaged.
A long flexible wire was recovered from the blast site.- By Our Reporter
