SHILLONG, SEPT 11: United Democratic Party (UDP) on Friday announced its first list of candidates on Friday who will be contesting the forthcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC)polls slated on October 12.
The list comprises the names of nine candidates joining the fray from the constituencies under the four districts of Garo hills.
The list was released at the foundation day of the 18 years of existence of the United Democratic Party (UDP), one of biggest regional political parties in the state on Friday.
From South Garo Hills District, the party has fielded Penindro M Sangma from 1 Siju Rongara constituency and Plebirth M Sangma from Wagesik constituency, while Tengsil W Momin – 23 Bolsrong and Anand M Marak – 26 Kharkutta from North Garo hills district, UDP Secretary in-charge Garo Hills Arun N Marak informed.
While Silman N Marak from– 28 Samanda, Mahamsing M Sangma – 29 Williamnagar and Henen R Sangma – 27 Darugre will be contesting the elections from East Garo hills district, Butther M Sangma – 8 Amongpara and Tinash Momin – 9 Tura from West Garo hills district, he informed.– By Our Reporter
