Shillong, November 10: The conglomerate of fifteen pro Inner Line Permit (ILP) ngos have announced two days night road blockade beginning on November 12 and 15. The road blockade will start from 8 pm to 5 am during these four days.
RBYF general secretary LK Sawkmie said the fifteen organization stands united over their demand for the implementation of ILP in the state even though the state government has turned a Nelson’s eyes to the need for introducing influx and illegal immigration controlling mechanism.
Sawkmie said the organizations will continue to fight for the introduction of the ILP in the state. He has also appealed to the people to continue to support them in their fight for introduction of the ILP in the state.
Asserting that the ngos will continue to fight till the government fulfills their demand for the introduction of ILP, Sawkmie said, “We remain firm on our stand that the only solution for checking the problem of unabated influx and illegal immigrant is implementing the ILP which is a preventive tools to protect the indigenous tribal from begins swamped over by illegal influx. “ He said that the ngos can no longer be mere spectators while the local indigenous people are being inundated by the people from outside.
The fifteen organizations have also condemned the arrest of the CSWO President Agnes Kharshiing, who was arrested following the obstruction on MUDA official who were conducting eviction drive conducted at Umsawli village.- By Our Reporter
