TURA, JUNE 25: Four traders were abducted at gunpoint from a village in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills. The traders who are all from Phulbari town were on their way to Kantanagre village under Dadenggre sub-division, about 40 km from Tura.
The incident took place at 7 am on Thursday. The traders have been identified as Gulu, Shah Alam, Azgar Ali and Atwar Ali, all from Kaimbathapara village under Phulbari police station. Police suspect it is the handiwork of militants. Police informed that the traders were stopped by armed miscreants near Kantanagre village and taken towards Dipogre, which is near Damal Asim village.
Police have launched a combing operation in the area to rescue the traders.- By Our Reporter
