Four Day Exhibition Underway

Shillong, August 2: A four-day photo exhibition on National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was inaugurated today at the Primary Health Centre, Smit by the Sordar (Headman) of Smit village Kynshai Sing Syiem at 12 noon.

The exhibition was organised by the Field Exhibition Office, Directorate of Advertising &Visual Publicity of the union government, Inaugurating the event Syiem said that such exhibitions will help in educating the rural people on health issues and bring about awareness.

Syiem  said that such exhibition has been held in the Smit area for the first time for the benefit of the rural people. Health themes like Janani Suraksha Yojana, Mother & Child Health,  Importance of Iodised Salt in preventing Goitre, Importance of Proper Diet and Physical Activity, Anti-Tobacco Campaign in Preventing Cancer, Importance ofImmunization, Breast Feeding, Eye Health, Water Safety Measures were touched upon.-
