Former general secretary of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) Dr Wansainbor A Lyngwi and two others on Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Along with Dr Lyngwi, Meialam Kharmalki and Elnathan Ryntathiang were welcomed by the BJP leader and cabinet minister AL Hek in presence of state general secretary Evarist Myrsing, chief spokesperson M Kharkrang and other party functionaries.
Lyngwi was also a former KSU leader in his college days and later joined the Congress party where he became the general secretary of Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress.
Speaking during the welcoming ceremony, Hek said that the joining of the three individuals to the BJP will further strengthen the party in its preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Hek encouraged the newcomers and all present in the meeting to work hard to make sure that the BJP secure a majority in the up-coming MP election.
In his speech, Dr Lyngwi stated that his reason for joining the BJP is his love for his motherland right and today he is confident that if BJP runs the government in the state and in the centre, then various development will come to the state.
