Shillong, Sept 4: Firming up its demand for a separate “Garoland”, the ANVC(B) will begin its five days night road-blockade from September 5 to 9 and has warned that it will intensify the stir if its demand is turned down.
The twelve hours nigh blockade will begins from 6 pm to 6 am. The ANVC (B) said that the seriousness of its demand can be gauged from the call it has given for night road.
The ANVC (B) statement Tuesday said, “If Government does not respond, we will intensify our stir in the coming week and even warned that politicians who fail to raise ‘Garoland’ issue will be dealt with in accordance to their “agreement and commitment”. It, however, did not elaborate on the “agreement and commitment.”
ANVC (B)’s said its fight is against the corrupted governance and total negligence by the Garo politicians that is affecting the entire system of the society. It reiterated its demand for the immediate dissolution of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and constitution of Garoland.- By Our Reporter
