Extortionists beaten by mob

TURA, APR 1: Two alleged extortionists were beaten up by angry mob at Boldorengre, near Rongkhon locality of Tura. The duo was on an extortion drive, when they were caught. After beating the duo, the locals handed them over to the police.

Locals claim that the duo had come to collect ransom from a lawyer, who stays at Boldorengre.

They have been identified as David Marak of Ronshu in South Garo Hills and Namas N Sangma of Rongjeng in East Garo Hills (EGH). “We are interrogating the duo to understand their modus operandi and who all were part of their gang”, Mukesh Singh, SP West Garo hills informed.- From Our Correspondent
