Ethical voting campaign

SHILLONG, APR 4 : An interactive awareness as well as rural outreach programme under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) plan  on ethical voting was held at Rongram, 15 kilometers away from Tura on Friday.

The programme was followed by an interactive youth awareness campaign at Tura Don Bosco College and a road-show on ethical voting at Araimile. The programmes are part of the three day SVEEP campaign on ethical voting being held at different locations on April 4, 5 and 7.

The SVEEP campaign on ethical voting    aimed at creating consciousness among the electorates of the region on ethical voting and the importance of exercising one’s franchise.

During the programme SVEEP campaign partner Saidul Islam Khan, an independent journalist, advocated the practice of ethical voting and urged qualified voters to exercise their right to make democracy stronger and vibrant.

Later pamphlets and posters on ethical voting were distributed to the people. Khan and his team backed by professional media coverage will be touring different locations of Tura on the Election Awareness Truck and spread the message on ethical voting and the voting right.- By Our Reporter
