SHILLONG, JUNE 2: The Directorate of Land Records and Survey will soon submit its survey report to the state government on the identified locations for setting up of the entry and exits points as part of implementation of the comprehensive mechanism to check influx of ‘outsiders’ into the state.
The assurance was given by Land Records and Survey director to the leaders of 13 pro-ILP groups, who met him on on Tuesday.
“He (Director) has assured that the directorate would submit its survey report to the respective deputy commissioners tentatively by June 18-19,” KSU general secretary Auguster Jyrwa told reporters after the meeting.
He said, “We were also informed that the directorate has also sent a team of officials today to conduct the survey on the identified locations in both East and West Jaintia Hills.”
“The directorate also assured that it would again send the team for survey in Ri Bhoi District on June 10,” Jyrwa said.
Earlier, the deputy commissioners of Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi District had told the delegation of 13 ngos that releasing the compensation could not be processed because of delay by the directorate of Land Records and Survey to submit its report.- By Our Reporter
