SHILLONG, DEC 17: The newly appointed Meghalaya Advocate General Dr BP Todi took charge of the office on Thursday. A felicitation programme was also organized for Todi in which GS Massar, senior advocate, former advocate general WHD Syngkon, additional advocate general, LM Sangma, special secretary of law department besides officers and staffs were present.
Dr Todi was elevated from additional advocate general to the post of the AG after former Advocate General KS Kynjing resigned a week ago. Todi’s name was cleared unanimously while the state government had sent the former AG’s resignation letter to the Governor V Shanmuganathan.
Kynjing resigned in the wake of criticism for his failure to serve as the AG in important matters in the high court.-By Our Reporter
