SHILLONG, NOV 3: The UDP will have to start afresh for the GHADC polls.
After its CEC meeting on Tuesday, party general secretary Titosstarwell Chyne announced that the list of candidates announced last year stands denotified.
He said the election has already been postponed twice, and the latest postponement came with an announcement of delimitation of constituencies under the GHADC.
“After delimitation, there will be relocation of villages falling under the constituencies,” Chyne said.
“So we are saying that the list of candidates which we have announced, we will denotify it,” he added.
Chyne said the CEC has also tasked the organising committee with touring all constituencies to rebuild the party, with special focus on seats where MLAs have defected to other parties.
“The CEC has endorsed the organising committee to go to all the constituencies for reorganising the party, especially in those constituencies where the MLAs have defected,” he said.
