BANGALORE, APR 14: For the two teams from Shillong, Monday will be crucial as Rangdajied United football club and Langsning football club will be playing in the final leg of the second division I-League with Rangdajied United FC taking on Bhawanipore FC in afternoon and Langsning FC will be playing against Mohammedan Sporting Club in the evening at the Bangalore football stadium.
At the end of the first leg of the second division I-League, Mohammedan Sporting Club has topped the points tally with ten points in its kitty followed by Bhawanipore FC and MumbaiTigers with nine points each. Langsning football club has pocketed seven points while Rangdajied United FC has four points with Southern Samity at the bottom of point tally with just two points.
In the final leg of the tournament all the teams will be taking on each other and the two top of the table teams will qualify for the I-League next season.
During its first leg match Bhawanipore FC had piped Rangdajied by a solitary goal. But it was the Shillong side who had dominated the game.
Rangdajied assistant coach Khlain P Syiemlieh told this website, “ It is a do or dies situation for us. If we can win full points then the chance of making to the I-League is still open however if we lose then we will not be able to make it,”
Rangdajied will be missing the service of Em Loveday who was shown the red card in the last match against Langsning FC.
The other Shillong team Langsning had lost to the Kolkata side 1-2 in its previous leg tie. However its technical director L Darlong is positive that his boys will give their best to earn full point from this match as it is the final stage of the tournament.-By Suraj Joshi
