Shillong, Sept 7: Meghalaya Community & Rural Development (C&RD) department minister Saleng A Sangma assured the assembly that the government is taking all necessary actions against alleged “irregularities” in the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in the state.
Sangma told the house, “The department has received as many as 13 complaints relating to irregularities in the implementation of the scheme.”
Answering to a query by opposition leader Conrad K Sangma he assured that all such complaints are inquired into and necessary actions are taken accordingly”.
Sangma informed that a total of 93 complaints have been received from the different districts of the state during 2012-2013 wherein 70 cases were disposed off. He, however, said a total of 23 complaints are at different stages of investigations”. – By Our Reporter
