SHILLONG, NOV 23: Fifty-eight more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, taking the total cases to 11,397 in the state.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the new cases include 22 from East Khasi Hills district, 20 South Garo Hills district, 9 Ri Bhoi district, 6 West Garo Hills district and 1 South West Garo Hills district.
Of the 57 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said 30 are from East Khasi Hills, 11 Ri Bhoi, 10 South Garo Hills and 6 West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 11,397 COVID-19 cases out of which 895 are active cases, 10,392 recovered and 110 deaths.
Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.96 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 433 positive cases, West Garo Hills 234, South Garo Hills 51, East Garo Hills 45, South West Garo Hills 35, Ri Bhoi 30, West Khasi Hills 27, East Jaintia Hills 19, West Jaintia Hills 11 and North Garo Hills 10.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,31,117 persons have been tested of which 2,19,720 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 62,058 entrants from outside the state.
