SHILLONG, JUL 28: The state on Thursday recorded 14 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,062 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 7 were reported from East Khasi Hills district, 3 from Ri Bhoi district 2 from West Garo Hills district and 1 each from West Jaintia Hills district and South Garo Hills district.
He said the state also detected 731 new cases. These include 204 in East Khasi Hills, 114 Ri Bhoi, 91 West Jaintia Hills, 128 West Garo Hills, 96 West Khasi Hills, 30 East Jaintia Hills, 9 South West Garo Hills, 22 North Garo Hills, 6 South Garo Hills and 9 East Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 423 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 155 are from East Khasi Hills, 39 West Garo Hills, 56 West Jaintia Hills, 65 Ri Bhoi, 38 South West Khasi Hills, 31 West Khasi Hills, 7 North Garo Hills, 21 East Garo Hills, 6 South West Garo Hills, 3 South Garo Hills and 2 East Jaintia Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 63,745 COVID-19 cases out of which 5,750 are active cases, 56,933 recovered and 1,062 deaths.
With 2,107 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Garo Hills with 1,012 cases and Ri Bhoi with 650 cases.
There are 614 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 472 West Khasi Hills, 320 South West Khasi Hills, 138 North Garo Hills, 102 East Garo Hills, 166 East Jaintia Hills, 78 South West Garo Hills and 91 South Garo Hills.
