SHILLONG, AUG 7: The state on Saturday recorded 7 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,154 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 3 each were reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Khasi Hills district and 1 from East Garo Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 524 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 271 in East Khasi Hills, 50 West Khasi Hills, 63 West Garo Hills, 55 Ri Bhoi, 53 West Jaintia Hills, 7 East Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills, 7 East Jaintia Hills, 4 South Garo Hills and 8 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 709 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 244 East Khasi Hills, 86 West Garo Hills, 67 West Jaintia Hills, 63 West Khasi Hills, 9 East Garo Hills, 6 North Garo Hills, 7 South Garo Hills, 9 South West Garo Hills, 29 East Jaintia Hills, 136 Ri Bhoi and 53 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 68,631 COVID-19 cases out of which 5,323 are active cases, 62,154 recovered and 1,154 deaths.
With 2,149 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 844 and West Garo Hills with 705 cases.
There are 534 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 503 Ri Bhoi, 230 South West Khasi Hills, 86 East Jaintia Hills, 80 North Garo Hills, 72 East Garo Hills, 63 South Garo Hills and 57 South West Garo Hills.
