SHILLONG, AUG 25: The state on Wednesday recorded 7 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,292 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 2 each were reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district and 1 from South West Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 354 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 241 in East Khasi Hills, 27 West Khasi Hills, 14 West Garo Hills, 45 Ri Bhoi, 16 West Jaintia Hills, 0 East Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 1 South Garo Hills, 5 South West Khasi Hills and 0 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 352 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 167 East Khasi Hills, 37 West Garo Hills, 53 West Jaintia Hills, 35 West Khasi Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 0 South West Garo Hills, 7 East Jaintia Hills, 32 Ri Bhoi and 13 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 74,586 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,815 are active cases, 70,479 recovered and 1,292 deaths.
With 1,495 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 425 and West Khasi Hills with 254 cases.
There are 250 in West Jaintia Hills, 138 West Garo Hills, 126 South West Khasi Hills, 31 East Jaintia Hills, 23 North Garo Hills, 16 East Garo Hills, 27 South West Garo Hills and 30 South Garo Hills.
