COVID-19: 208 new cases, 2 deaths

SHILLONG, SEPT 25: The state on Saturday recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,391 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, one each was reported from Ri Bhoi district and West Khasi Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 208 new COVID-19 cases. These includes, 129 in East Khasi Hills, 28 West Khasi Hills, 20 Ri Bhoi, 18 West Jaintia Hills, 5 South West Khasi Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 1 North Garo Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 251 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 109 are from East Khasi Hills, 72 West Khasi Hills, 28 West Jaintia Hills, 28 Ri Bhoi, 4 West Garo Hills, 4 South West Khasi Hills, 2 East Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 1 North Garo Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 80,638 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,945 are active cases, 77, 302 recovered and 1,391 deaths.

 

With 934 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 411 cases and West Jaintia Hills 223.

 

There are 219 in Ri Bhoi, 88 South West Khasi Hills, 29 West Garo Hills, 22 East Jaintia Hills, 6 North Garo Hills, 6 South West Garo Hills, 4 East Garo Hills and 3 South Garo Hills.
