SHILLONG, SEPT 21: The state on Wednesday recorded four more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,385 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, two were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from Ri Bhoi district and West Jaintia Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 166 new COVID-19 cases. These includes, 97 in East Khasi Hills, 42 West Khasi Hills, 10 West Jaintia Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills, 1 East Garo Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 172 persons have recovered from the viral infection. Of these, 60 are from East Khasi Hills, 41 West Jaintia Hills, 31 Ri Bhoi, 16 West Khasi Hills, 14 South West Khasi Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 3 South West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 North Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 79,983 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,868 are active cases, 76,730 recovered and 1,385 deaths.
With 881 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 403 cases and West Jaintia Hills 270.
There are 143in Ri Bhoi, 90 South West Khasi Hills, 29 West Garo Hills, 27 East Jaintia Hills, 10 East Garo Hills, 6 North Garo Hills, 6 South West Garo Hills and 3 South Garo Hills.
