COVID-19: 101 new cases, 4 deaths

SHILLONG, AUG 31: The state on Tuesday recorded 4 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,311 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, all were reported from East Khasi Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 101 new COVID-19 cases.

 

These include 30 in East Khasi Hills, 25 West Khasi Hills, 13 West Garo Hills, 6 Ri Bhoi, 19 West Jaintia Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 1 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills and 2 South West Garo Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 280 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 127 East Khasi Hills, 8 West Garo Hills, 21 West Jaintia Hills, 50 West Khasi Hills, 0 East Garo Hills, 8 North Garo Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 4 South West Garo Hills, 0 East Jaintia Hills, 23 Ri Bhoi and 39 South West Khasi Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 75,836 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,326 are active cases, 72,199 recovered and 1,311 deaths.

 

With 1,212 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 322 and West Khasi Hills with 309 cases.

 

There are 197 in West Jaintia Hills, 86 West Garo Hills, 102 South West Khasi Hills, 38 East Jaintia Hills, 10 North Garo Hills, 17 East Garo Hills, 20 South West Garo Hills and 13 South Garo Hills.
