SHILLONG, JULY 4: Meghalaya High Court registrar general W Diengdoh clarified on Thursday that petition filed by Chandra Mohan Jha Foundation (CMJ) has not yet been admitted by the court. In a press statement issued on Thursday Diengdoh said, “The matter relates to a Writ Petition No WP(C) [SH] 178/2013, in which the High Court vide order dated 25/6/2013, has passed an order specifically referring to the special leave to appeal (SLP) (Civil) No (S) 19617 which is pending in the Apex Court and accordingly it was held that the instant Writ Petition will be taken up after July 15, 2013.”
Earlier, the CMJ Foundation counsel had claimed that court has admitted its petition. Stating that the claim as misleading, Diengdoh said, “Therefore its stands to reason that the said petition has not yet been admitted.”-By Our Reporter
