Convicted for blackmail

SHILLONG, OCT 9: Court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class on Friday convicted and sent one Banlumlang Warjri to four months simple imprisonment for his alleged involvement in blackmailing a social activist Irene P Hujon.

The court convicted the accused Banlumlang Warjri to simple imprisonment of 4 months and 4 days, East Khasi hills SP (City) Vivek Syiem informed.

He said the accused was charge-sheeted for his involvement in a trespassing, threatening and blackmailing Irene P Hujon of ABP Road, Harisabha Laban, Shillong. Warjri was found guilty in the trial and hence convicted, the SP said.- By Our Reporter
