Mawlai: Pathaw to contest against Cajee

Shillong, August 10: Teibor Pathaw will be contesting against sitting Mawlai Congress legislator Founder S Cajee as the candidate of the newly formed Mawlai Constituency People Reform Organization (MCPRO). His name as the party candidate for the upcoming Assembly election was announced on Friday.

The MCPRO was formed in 2010. MCPRO president Twen Kharkongor told a gathering, “The organization is being formed with a vision to bring about a change in the constituency”.

A former United Democratic Party (UDP) member, Kharkongor resigned from the party.

Speaking about Pathaw candidature Kharkongor said, “We had detail discussion and found Teibor Pathaw has got a good chance of winning in the coming election elections”. Elated at his candidature the Pathaw clan has promise their support to Teibor.

Talking about his decision to contest the assembly election, Teibor Pathaw said that he had no desire to contest earlier but change his mind as he felt the Mawlai constituency really needs change.- By Our Reporter
