SHILLONG, MAY 26: A Congress member Ravi B Kharmawphlang on Thursday decided to quit from the primary membership of the party.
In his resignation letter addressed to the AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Kharmawphlang said, “In spite of my humble contributions and active participation in the party activities at various levels, I have been without any assignment or duty for reasons best known to the party for the last seven years or so, therefore, I would like to humbly submit my resignation with immediate effect from the primary membership of the party.”
He said that he was earlier assigned several important key assignments which included election duties in other states and was also the IYC appointed in-charge of the Central Election Control Room in Guwahati for the party, when Tarun Gogoi was elected for his second term as chief minister in Assam.
Kharmawphlang has been a member of the INC for the past thirty years.- By Our Reporter
