SHILLONG, JUNE 6: The Director of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE) issued order on Thursday saying that the department will examine the feasibility of accommodating the students of the CMJ University, which has been shutdown, in other institutions. The order brought relieve to aggrieved students of the now controversial university who otherwise were worried about their future after the closure of the university.
The DHTE has also asked the students to submit their particulars with supporting documents to the office of the DHTE at Additional Secretariat between June 7to 17 for the purpose of examining the feasibility of accommodating them in other institutions.
Speaking to reporters, the CMJ University students said, “We are happy with the notice issued by the DHTE and we will go forward to submit necessary documents required and we will do it soon and meet the deadline.”
The students had earlier served deadline to the state government demanding solution to their problem. Incidentally the deadline expired today.
They further informed that they would meet Governor RS Mooshahary on Friday at 12 noon.
The students said, “We would take up matters pertaining to various issues of the students like making the fees paid to the CMJ University refundable so that they could use it for admissions in other universities and others.”
The students also hoped that the government would take necessary action to enable them to resume their education as they mentally depressed.- By Our Reporter
