Shillong, Nov 19: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma urged the people to work together to build a vibrant and strong India. He said each citizen must take responsibility to promote national integration as part of their duties
Addressing the National Integration Week which coincides with the birthday of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi Monday at the secretariat lawn he told the a gathering consisting mainly of the officers including chief secretary WMS Pariat to work together
in building a vibrant and strong India.
Sangma said, “With even 1.2 billion populations in India, the integration among the people of our great nation can be preserved and made strong and vibrant”. Saying that the youths in the state might have had the perception, earlier that the central government was not looking after the welfare of the state properly but now Sangma informed that there are many central projects which have been designed in a manner that it is suitable for all the regions of the country. .
Later Sangma and other officers took the pledge to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation and promised not to resort to violence and will continue to endeavor towards settlement of all differences and disputes relating to
religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances by peaceful
