SHILLONG, AUG 14: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today officially launched the e-champion challenge website for selecting the best business ideas as part of promoting ‘culture of entreprenuership’ in the state.
Addressing at the function held here on Tuesday, Sangma congratulated the Planning department, Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata for coming up with such an important website.
He said the initiative is part of the government’s drive to give recognition and promote the entrepreneurship culture in the state.
“The e-champion challenge is a business plan competition to ensure the best ideas is put forward,” Sangma said.
According to him, Rs 1 lakh will be rewarded to the top 25 best business ideas.
As part of promoting entreprenuership, the chief minister further informed that the governmeng would also soon come up with a procurement policy to ensure focus is given to products by local entreprenuers.
