TURA, AUG 8 : Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma launched the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme (CMSAS) for infirm, widows and disabled in Kharkutta C&RD block on Friday.
While launching the scheme, Sangma said that every deserving individual will benefit from the scheme. He also informed the gathering that to give access to the people about the facilities being provided by the government under the scheme a Meghalaya Help Desk On-line has also been initiated.
Urging the beneficiaries under theFinancial Inclusion Scheme to utilize the financial assistance given to them to improve their standard of living, Sangma said that the government has set a target to cover 4 lakh families under the Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Promotion Program (IBDLP).
Highlighting the tireless efforts put in by the government to bring about more development in the state, Sangma informed the gathering that the state government had already identified the sites under the Cluster Approach to set up 2 cattle farms.
Sangma also sought the active participation of the youth in Mission Green to preserve and improve the natural environment. Urging the stake-holders to grab the benefits being provided under the Chief Minister’s Career Counseling and Career Guidance Scheme, he informed that PC Tablets will be distributed to the deserving students of Class XI and XII respectively in September.
Sangma distributed the sanction orders to the beneficiaries under the Women Economic Empowerment Scheme and the application forms for availing assistance under the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme for infirm, widows and disabled respectively.
Others who were present during the launching were Kharkutta legislator and the parliamentary secretaries Cherak W Momin, parliamentary secretary Limison D Sangma, Brigady N Marak, Director of Social Welfare Department, Social Welfare department director HM Shangpliang, North Garo hills deputy commissioner W Khyllep and SP JFK Marak respectively also present.- From Our Correspondent
